  • Sourdough bread: Or swap for your favorite type of bread such as multi-grain or whole wheat. This is my favorite sourdough bread recipe if you need one!
    Cottage cheese: Cream cheese
  • Avocado: Be sure to buy one that is ripe. You can tell as you give it a gentle squeeze it will be soft.
  • Cottage cheese: This recipe uses a low-fat version. If you are upping healthy fats, you can use 4% milkfat. You can swap this for cream cheese, but you’ll losing a considerable amount of protein.
  • Shelled hemp hearts: This is an excelled source of protein and has a very neutral taste.
  • Everything bagel seasoning: to sprinkle on top!
  • Honey: You don’t want to skip this! Except if you are a baby – no honey for kids under one!
  • Butter: To toast the sourdough bread in

How to make avocado cottage cheese toast

Step one: Toast a slice of sourdough bread. I like to do this in a cast iron skillet with a 1/2 tablespoon of butter.

Step two: Spread cottage cheese on toast. Sprinkle on the hemp hearts. Slice an avocado lengthwise and remove the pit. Thinly slice the avocado and then scoop it out with a spoon.

Step three: Sprinkle on everything bagel seasoning and drizzle on honey.

How to store
