About Lexi Battershell

Founder of Our Slice of Home

I’m so glad you’re here! I am the recipe developer, food blogger, and content creator behind Our Slice of Home! I specialize in eggless baking and egg-free breakfast recipes. As a home chef, I have been perfecting my recipes for the past 6+ years, and they are well tested and well loved.

What was the motivation? I became part of the food allergy world – the club no one wants to join – when I married my husband, who’s allergic to several tree nuts. We then navigated an egg allergy in our son for many years. Food restrictions can be daunting and difficult, and that’s what inspired me to start this food blog.

What can I expect? Life is busy, schedules are hectic, and kids can be picky. My goal is to help you get simple, delicious meals on the table that your whole family will love. I live in a small town with just three grocery store options, so you’ll never find complicated or hard-to-find ingredients here. No weird egg substitutes! Just normal everyday ingredients are used in my recipes.

Education

Bachelors of Science Degree – Truman State University

Masters in Occupational therapy – University of Kansas Medical Center

Getting more personal!

My main roles in life include being a wife to Travis and a mom to my 3 beautiful children.

I spent many years working as an occupational therapist, helping individuals regain independence after medical crises such as a stroke. After my third child was born, we made a big move, and I transitioned to being a stay-at-home mom.

Now my days are full of cooking, cleaning, teaching my kids, developing recipes, and running this business. Always seeking to make my home one of my family’s favorite places to be. Take a look around – I hope you find inspiration for your own slice of home!

Best Way to Stay Connected?

By far, I’d recommend my e-mail list. Social media gets to pick and choose what shows up on your screen. But newsletters will always make it to your inbox!
