This baked blackberry oatmeal is perfect for all occasions. Prepare it for a special holiday breakfast. Or meal prep it for a busy weekday to easily reheat and enjoy. It comes out of the oven smelling delicious and tasting even better.
We have wild blackberry bushes growing all throughout our yard. It’s a true highlight each summer as they ripen are ready to be picked. Often times they never even make it into the house as my kid’s hands and faces are stained purple as they enjoy every bite. If we do have any left over, this blackberry breakfast recipe is a family favorite recipe.
Ingredients and Substitutions

- Ground flax seed: This adds great fiber to the meal and helps bind it together.
- Ground cinnamon: A delicious warm spice that adds tremendous flavor.
- Baking powder: Be sure to use it so the oatmeal rises.
- Salt: It always enhances the flavor!
- Whole milk: Swap for your favorite non-dairy milk.
- Maple syrup: Can also use brown sugar.
- Plain Greek yogurt: Or your favorite non-dairy yogurt. I have prepared it with vanilla coconut yogurt and it was delicious!
- Vanilla extract: Be sure to include this especially if you using plain yogurt. If your yogurt is flavored with vanilla, you could omit.
