Substitutions

Unsweetened Coconut Milk: Almond milk or oat milk are great options. If you don’t need dairy free then 2% milk.

Honey: Maple Syrup

Storage

You can store this smoothie in the fridge for 1-2 days. It will likely become more runny when stored in the fridge.

Equipment needed

You will need a counter top blender for this recipe. I use a ninja single serve blender. I have had it for many years and cannot find the exact model online, but it is similar to this blender

Additional Add-In’s

Protein Powder: If you are looking to add protein to make you fuller for longer or make this smoothie a meal replacement then I would recommend a protein powder. A vanilla flavored one would pair well.

1 tbsp chia seeds: They are a great source of fiber. If you struggle with constipation or want to aid in digestion this is great to add into the smoothie. They also absorb water and can help you feel fuller for longer.

1/2 tbsp ground flax seed: Great source of fiber and omega-3 and 6 fatty acids

1/2 cup of spinach: The taste is so mild and an easy way to add in nutritious veggies

Why I love this recipe

Quick, easy, and delicious! You can add or subtract whatever you like from this simple strawberry banana smoothie recipe. This smoothie is allergen friendly and a HUGE hit amongst my kids. If your kids are anything like mine, they ask for snacks frequently throughout the day. Instead of handing them another pre packaged snack that likely won’t satisfy hunger, I much prefer to whip up this quick smoothie.
