You will love this easy Italian sandwich without mayo. The dressing used on this sandwich is an oil and vinegar dressing. It uses olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt and pepper. It provides the perfect tangy flavor.
The combination of meats and toppings truly makes for a delicious and easy Italian sandwich. It is quick to throw together and has amazing flavor. Often when I think of cold lunch sandwiches they can be so bland and boring. This sandwich is a favorite of my husband and I’s because of the rich flavors and how protein packed it is. It will keep you full until dinnertime!
This recipe is even kid friendly. My kid’s enjoy this sandwich, although they eat it a bit differently by opening up the sandwich and eating 1 ingredient at a time. With egg allergies in our family we need an alternative to mayonnaise – this Italian sandwich without mayonnaise is the perfect option.

How to make this recipe
- Start with 2 slices of bread and drizzle a bit of red wine vinegar and olive oil on 1 slice. If you are going to make this sandwich ahead of time for work or a picnic, wait to place the dressing on it so it does not make the bread soggy. You could also place the dressing in between slices of meat
- Give a small shake of salt and pepper on top of the olive oil and vinegar
- Layer on your meats – Pepperoni, salami, and ham
- Place your sliced tomato and lettuce on top
- Add in a few sliced pepperoncini’s
- Enjoy!
Egg Free and Dairy Free Italian Sandwich
