Equipment

1 electric stand mixer or hand-held electric mixer

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream cold, straight out of the fridge
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Place your mixing bowl and whisk in the freezer for 10 minutes. I recommend using a metal bowl.
  • Pour heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar into the mixing bowl. Mix for 2-4 minutes. Start on medium speed and increase to medium-high as you mix.
  • It is done mixing when you see stiff peaks form in the whipped cream and it has a thicker consistency. It will begin to curdle if you over-mix it.

Notes

Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator and enjoy within 3 days.
If using a stand mixer, use the whisk attachment.
You can swap the powdered sugar for white granulated sugar.
If you want the beautiful swirl look, place into a piping bag with a large tip.
If you overmix and it becomes curdled, add a bit of heavy whipping cream and gently stir it in with a silicone spatula.
