When you're craving a fast indulgent dessert, this chocolate mug cake without eggs is the answer! All the ingredients are mixed right in a mug, then microwaved to gooey perfection.
Pour in flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until there are no clumps of flour.
6 tablespoons flour, ¼ teaspoon baking powder, ⅛ teaspoon salt
Microwave on 50% power for 30 seconds.
Pour in chocolate chips and push down into the middle. Microwave an additional 30-60 seconds. Don't cook for too long! The top of the mug cake should not be wet/gooey when you touch it with your fingertip. If it is, microwave an additional 15 seconds.
⅛ cup chocolate chips
Remember, as the mug sits for about a minute it will continue to cook from residual heat.
Optional: Top with white chocolate chips, scoop of ice cream, or caramel.
Notes
I highly recommend microwaving at 50% power to not dry out the cake. Delicious toppings: white chocolate, caramel, whipped cream, ice cream.
